From Borders to Brooches. Lots of classes at Busy Bees

Here is your monthly update on the workshops that will be running at Busy Bees through October. We do have a few places free on some of the classes and we are running a few of the workshops, that are full, again on new dates.

On Saturday October 1st we are running two classes. 'Home Sweet Home' with Trease Lane. This class will be held in the shop and is full.

There are a few places left on 'Now for the border' with Avril Hann.
Avril will bring along a selection of patterns and all other relevant items needed to get you started on your border design. However if you have a particular border design in mind please feel free to bring this along and with Avril you can work out sizes etc… to make sure it fits your project like a glove.

By the end of the day Avril's aim is for you to go home armed with the knowledge and confidence you need to frame future projects with stunning borders that will add just one more dimension to your creation.

Please do not think you have to be a mathematician for this course – the calculations are simple if you follow just one or two simple guidelines. If you would like to join the class give the shop a ring on 01633 810801.

On Saturday October 8th Bob Challingsworth will be with us again with his ever popular class 'Gremlin Busters'. Needless to say Bob has a full class.

In the hall Elspeth Thomas is running her dressmaking class 'Make a simple skirt". At the class you will be making Butterick pattern B4461 which is a simple skirt with a zip. Elspeth will also be teaching you how to alter pattern pieces to make it bigger or smaller, so that the skirt fits you perfectly.

'Brooch Making. Part Two' with Chris Thomas will now be held in the small hall at Duffryn Community Centre on October 15th. Chris has a full class with people on the waiting list. If we get two more names Chris is happy to teach the class again on a new date.

Another class that is full, with a waiting list is 'Lots of Christmas People' with June Matthews. We have asked June to teach another class on Saturday October 29th. Not everyone that was on the waiting list could come, and we have four places to fill. If you would like to make these lovely Christmas people to put on your Christmas tree give the shop a ring 01633 810801.

On Saturday October 22nd 'Round and Around' with Sally Ablett has proved to be very popular. The class is full with a waiting list.

The last class in October is Marion Patterson's class ' Paisley for you'. Marion will be over in Duffryn Community Centre and has ten people coming along to make her lovely semi-scrappy quilt. Marion is happy to take a few more name. Those of you who have attended Marion's previous workshops know that she likes to keep things simple. The class is suitable for all levels of quilters who have some rotary cutting experience. If you would like to see the quilt, a sample is in the shop or have a look at the workshop section on our website. Again if you would like to book onto this class give the shop a ring.
